This week, our fifth graders learned that fishing teaches so much more than how to catch a fish! 🎣
As part of our science learning about ecosystems, habitats, and food chains, students were able to connect classroom concepts to the real world while experiencing nature firsthand. They also practiced problem solving, patience, teamwork, responsibility, and perseverance while baiting hooks, rigging poles, and helping one another throughout the experience. A few even conquered their fears and baited hooks for the first time!!
Experiences like these help build confidence, independence, and real-world skills that students will carry with them far beyond fifth grade.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped provide these opportunities and support our students, especially Gary Earl and Adam Johnson for purchasing poles and some tackle for a few students. We truly appreciate our community!

What a FUN day in second grade!! 💙
The excitement was unreal when the second graders realized some of Plankinton High School’s track STARS were there to sign the hats they painted for Track & Field Day! The smiles, squeals, and excitement filled the room from start to finish. 🏃♂️✨
A HUGE thank you to Mr. Bruinsma and all of the volunteers for making this day so special for our students — it’s a memory they will not forget! 🥰

Summer lesson sign up sheets are due by the end of this week! There are still several afternoon slots available. Please contact either Stoebner with questions.

Mrs. Olsen’s 5th Grade classroom has officially transformed into Camp Learned-A-Lot! 🏕️✨
Our classroom is now complete with a giant tent, glowing “stars,” and all the sounds of nature to create the ultimate camping experience!
Today, students worked together to establish cabin names, create cabin chants, practice Reader’s Theater performances, and even enjoyed S’Mores cereal for snack! 🍫🔥🥣
This afternoon, campers are hard at work reviewing metric conversions, wrapping up end-of-the-year reflections, and preparing to present their Reader’s Theater performances later today.
We’re looking forward to an exciting week ahead with a visit from local conservation officer Lynn Geuke, kickball at the ball fields, a golf course scavenger hunt, fishing at Jail Pond, and many more camp-themed adventures! 🎣⛳⚾
As our students prepare to leave the elementary side, we want to make these final memories meaningful, engaging, and unforgettable. ❤️
