Fifth grade is learning about early American Indian societies and their early settlements. In these settlements, they began to practice agriculture, which led to blending of cultures due to staying in one place longer. Students modeled how to learn new skills with no verbal communication, just as some early settlers did when they didn't share cultures or languages. We used non verbal skills only to teach a group of teacher-selected classmates a new card game.

Maycee always comes to class with a positive mood and ready to go. She is among the students who will help put away any materials that need to be put away. She is very respectful of not only myself, but the other students in the class. She takes responsibility for her intern job by being prepared to teach every afternoon. The student looks forward to working with her because she show that she cares.
