Second grade read Alma and the Worry Stone this week. The story explains that worry stones are a great way for kids to handle anxiety. They all made one and were so excited to try them out!

The middle school sciences have been busy learning about key concepts about cells in life science, air and water movement during Earth science, and forms of energy in physical science. Next week, life science will make their own cells, Earth science will do an experiment to model water and air pressure, and physical science will construct roller coasters to model energy transfers.
Fifth grade has been hard at work! This morning we got our minds and bodies moving by acting out our key vocabulary for the week. Then we calmed it down by reviewing place value concepts in Math! This is what a hardworking bunch of kids looks like!
The 7th Grade Computers Class will be able to help their parents with Google Docs, Sheets, and Projects soon!
Oral interp season has started!!! All pieces need to be selected by Wednesday, September 4th. Local contest is Wednesday, October 2nd.

The Algebra 1 classes started their algebra journey with a sorting activity. In groups of three, students were asked to sort several graphs in any way they want based on what they see and know already. We hope to see how much we grew at the end of the year!
The kindergarten class went on a bear hunt! The bears were located all over the school building. Now we know where to find all the important places we will go to this school year, like the music room, gym, lunchroom and library.

First grade read the story "We're All Wonders" by R.J. Palacio. We discussed how we can be similar to our peers and still be unique! Students were given mirrors to help draw their own self-portraits, identifying their important features!
The sixth grade practiced their growth mindset with the challenge of making an index card fit over their heads!
